My current work is inspired by the idea that words have life. Words can inspire action or cause hesitation. Positive words can be a powerful catalyst when reaching ones goals so I create art that expresses the positivity that I want to be surrounded by in my life.

My medium of choice is colored pencil. I love the detail it creates and the way emotions are expressed through the pencil marks. I often create my drawings on colored paper because I love the way the colors of the pencils stand out against the background. I select paper colors that complement the colors I plan to use in the art.

The quotes I use in my artwork range anywhere from music lyrics to bible scriptures. Each quote has motivated me at times when I have doubted myself and my dreams. Reading the words are equivalent to hearing the words spoken and serves as a constant source of motivation for me. When creating the imagery for my artwork, I take great care in making sure the drawings support the quotes. I am most satisfied with a piece when the words and image are equally powerful.
