As an artist, I believe in practicing the sound principals of painting that I have learned both classically and experimentally. I also believe that an artist should strive for something more than just the technical accuracy in their work, but emotional bond of creative energies. There is a feeling, or reaction, that one gets when standing in front of a piece of art. Sometimes, it`s not an easy thing to describe, but one knows it when it happens. It might be the sense of place in the universe, the light on the subject, or a fleeting expression in a portrait. These are the types of reactions one hopes are communicated by art. The best scenario is when the technical and emotional unite as one. The line I love is the space between fire and smoke
