I am a self-taught wood burning artist who mixes traditional aspects of pyrography with typography.  All of my pieces are created by hand with a wood burning pen and each piece, even when replicated, has its own unique differences.  I like the natural contrast of the clean bare wood against the burned wood and leave most of my pieces in the neutral shades the wood burning produces.  However, every now and then I feel a piece will need a pop of color and will paint on my wood slices with water color or acrylic paint. A lot of my work is inspired by scripture, but I have many wood slices that have been inspired by nature and display an overall sense of adventure.
