In high school, I knew I wanted to design and produce jewelry. In 2007 I received my BFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design from the University of North Texas. Working with precious metals and gemstones provided me with an enjoyable passtime and a love of learning new tools and techniques. I often use elements of nature in my work.
In later years I decided to pick up crochet and have not stopped since. Crochet provides me with a relaxing and therapeutic experience. It brings me great joy when I’ve created an amigurumi (Japanese word for crocheted stuffy) for a child and they light up. In recent years, I have begun to teach my young students the art of crochet in order to pass down the history and love of fiber arts.
