My work revolves around the beauty of the line. Thin, thick, minimal black and white or exploding fauvism lines. My ceramic work incorporates real, imaginary and historical designs utilizing the difficult process of sgraffito, the art of carving into leatherhard clay before firing. I love that my ceramic work is functional and beautiful. I prefer only black and white when working with clay however when I paint I use all the colors available to me. My paintings deal with trees and exploding color paying homage to fauvism style. Lines are marks made. Marks made that allow me to show the world as I see it. My newer work involves ceramic mobiles that incorporate my love of sgraffito and color as well as cultural designs.
