I am mainly a productive potter for 45 years making functional and decorative pieces using various stoneware clay bodies and firing methods. Most of my functional pieces are made with stoneware clay and fired to Cone 10 in reduction atmosphere using a gas kiln to 2350’ F, which produces a highly durable ware with rich yet often subtle glaze colors. Also most of my work are wheel thrown pieces are altered and embellished with extruded elements but I have done some hand built pieces are constructed of highly textured slabs of clay combined with wheel thrown segments.  I received a BFA Painting at University of Texas at Arlington in 1972. And the attended University of University of Dallas, Irving, TX, where I received a Master of Arts in Ceramics and a Master of Fine Arts Ceramics. I've taught Art Education at University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, Texas. I was Instructor in the Dallas Community College District, Dallas, from 1974-1977 where I taught Art Appreciation, Introduction to Art, 3-Dimensional Design, Sculpture, and Ceramics. While living in Maryland I was an instructor at Prince George’s Community College, Landover, Maryland where I taught advertising art and design.
