This has been a love of clay for over 15 years, I have been going to TCCNW, the teachers and students of all ages gives us an experience that is hard to get in a studio alone. Evolving in my art, I love to explore different techniques. I love mixing my own glazes, the flow and movement of the glazes adds to my sense of color and style. I am having an interest in Crystalline glazing, as every piece is different and exciting to open the kiln and see how the crystals have grown and how it changes each piece.

In that respect my daughter Rachel Pharris decided also to attend TCCNW and she has found the love of sculpture her pieces, they have a unique style of emotive art that conveys what each person viewing her art will get a message that is just for them.

We have collaborated and we feed off of each other’s style. I will start a piece as I love to throw, Rachel will take that piece and will expand it. This makes our pieces a combination of throwing and hand building. Adding a sculptural feel to a wheel thrown form.
